NEMT STS Transportation Service

We offer crucial transportation for health, daily life, and medical appointments. Our services include Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) and Special Transportation Services certified by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). Your comfort and safety are our priority, which is why we operate a modern fleet, including a 2025 van equipped with a wheelchair ramp, all driven by qualified, trained drivers.

Sobriety Court Transportation

In a vital collaboration with the Aitkin County Judicial Branch, Aitkin County CARE is proud to offer dedicated transportation services specifically for participants in the Aitkin County Sobriety Court. This program is designed to remove a major barrier to recovery—reliable transportation—by ensuring participants can consistently attend their critical court-related activities and appointments.

Our goal is to support the success and compliance of every participant by providing rides for approved, court-related needs, including:

  • Transportation to and from treatment (including co-occurring substance use and mental health treatment).

  • Rides to and from medical and/or therapy appointments.

  • Travel to and from court appearances and related events/activities.

  • Transportation to and from treatment court-related programming.

These essential rides are provided by our dedicated Volunteer Drivers. To ensure the safety and reliability of the service, all volunteers must successfully complete a background check and specific CARE training.

Important Program Details:

  • Schedule: Ride times will vary based on the client's specific needs and appointments.

  • Approval: All rides must be pre-approved by the Aitkin County Community Corrections Probation Officer.
