Respite Services

We understand that stepping away can be difficult, which is why our CARE Professional Respite Staff focuses on providing reliable, person-centered support. Our staff handles daily tasks such as:

  • Personal Care Assistance: Providing stand-by assist with showers, helping with transfers (up to a 20-pound weight limit), and giving reminders for medication and hydration.

  • Household & Companionship: Preparing meals, light housekeeping, playing cards, visiting, or engaging in any other desired activity.

Breaks in caregiving are a must. They are as important to health as diet, sleep, rest and exercise. It’s important not to lose sight of your personal needs and interests. Studies show that sacrificing yourself in the care of another and removing pleasurable events from you life can lead to emotional exhaustion, depression and physical illness. You have a right-even a responsibility-to take some time away from caregiving. It’s important to ask yourself, “If my health deteriorates, or I die, what will happen to the person I provide care for? If I get emotionally drained, become deprived of sleep, or become isolated because I am trying to do it all, how loving am I likely to be to my family member?
